  • Tenure and Non-Tenure Physical Therapy Faculty Positions

The Northern Arizona University (NAU) Physical Therapy Program is expanding to the Phoenix Biomedical Campus. Forward-thinking faculty (2 tenure-track and 2 non-tenure- track) are needed to plan and implement the expansion. This represents an exciting collaboration in health profession education between NAU Physical Therapy and Physician Assistant programs and the University of Arizona Colleges of Medicine, Pharmacy, and Public Health. The primary responsibilities of the successful candidates will include developing and teaching courses related to one or more of the major physical therapy practice patterns and participating in research and dissemination. Other responsibilities include student advisement; service to the department, college, university, and profession; assisting with the clinical education portion of the curriculum.

Minimum and preferred qualifications for all positions and further details regarding the application process can be found at the NAU recruitment website (nau.edu/hr).

Northern Arizona University is a 25,000-student institution with its main campus in Flagstaff and 33 additional campuses throughout Arizona. The Phoenix Biomedical Campus (http://phoenix.gov/econdev/reinvest/focus/index.html) is located in the heart of revitalized Downtown Phoenix, which is the hub for theater, the arts, and local professional baseball and basketball teams. The campus is being renovated and will be well equipped with the most current technology to meet the needs of today’s learners. The campus is close to major freeways and Sky Harbor International Airport.

Interested individuals should electronically submit an application, which includes a statement of the position sought (i.e. tenure track or non-tenure track), academic and professional goals, contact information for 3 professional references, and a current curriculum vitae to Kathleen Ganley, P.T, Ph.D. (Search Committee Chair and Director, NAU Program in Physical Therapy at the Phoenix Biomedical Campus) at Kathleen.ganley@nau.edu. Questions or nominations can be directed to Dr. Ganley via e-mail or phone, (928) 523-7434. Applications will be accepted until the positions are filled or closed; however, review of applicants will begin November 25, 2011, and the anticipated start date is May 15, 2012 or sooner. The ultimate hiring for these positions is dependent upon approval from the Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) regarding the proposed expansion.
