  • Assistant/Associate Professor of Kinesiology - University of Toledo

    The Department of Kinesiology of the University of Toledo is seeking candidates for a tenure tract position at the Assistant or Associate level. Qualifications include an earned Doctorate with emphasis in one of the following areas: Athletic Training, Biomechanics, Motor Control / Neuromuscular Control, and with extended course work in anatomy. In addition candidates should have a demonstrated record of research publication in their area(s) of specialization, collegiate level teaching experience in this specialization, a record of involvement in funded grants, and an interest in and ability to advise both undergraduate and graduate student research. Certification from one or more of the following organizations is preferred (ACSM, NSCA, NATA).

    The successful applicant will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in one or more of the following areas: Anatomy, Athletic Training, Biomechanics, Exercise Prescription, Motor Control/Neuromuscular Control, Strength and Conditioning. In addition they will be expected to collaborate with students and faculty within the department and other appropriate departments across the University in research related to two or more of the following areas: musculoskeletal disabilities, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, balance, fatigue, motor control, neuromuscular control, as well as pursue external grant funding to support such research. And they will be expected to advise undergraduate honors theses, masters theses and doctoral dissertation research and participate in department, college and university service.

    The Department of Kinesiology at the University of Toledo serves more than 600 students pursuing undergraduate, masters, and doctoral degrees in Exercise Science and Athletic Training. In addition, it provides service courses to more than 500 students each semester from across the university in areas such as anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology and microbiology. Excellent opportunities exist for collaboration with faculty in other departments such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, medicine, and biomedical engineering. The department has outstanding facilities and resources to support both teaching and research.
