  • Lecturer/Senior Lecturer Biomechanics - Liverpool John Moores University

The School of Sport and Exercise Sciences at Liverpool John Moores University is looking for an ambitious individual to join their Biomechanics team.

The School of Sport and Exercise Sciences at Liverpool John Moores University has an enviable reputation for the quality of its research and enquiry-based teaching. In recent research audits we have been consistently ranked as one of the leading institutions in the UK with 25% of our work rated as world-leading and 85% as internationally recognised. The work we do interrogates the exercise response from the cellular to community dimension and operates across the range of core Sport and Exercise Science disciplines. In addition our research is applied across the human lifespan and from grassroots level to the elite performer. Our 36 leading academics exist in state of the art £33m facilities that are purpose built and that service the needs of our vibrant undergraduate and postgraduate communities. Our 80 PhD students are supported by a range of multimillion pound funding that has been secured from agencies such as the EU, research councils, charities, the NHS and commercial partners. This momentum produces in excess of 300 papers per annum in high impact international journals, and also informs applied knowledge transfer to the worlds of elite sport and public health, where we have developed long-lasting collaborative partnerships. We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed academic in the area of Biomechanics. You will have a track record of publication in international peer-review journals. There must be clear potential (if not already achieved) for significant income generation and experience in the supervision of postgraduate students is desirable. Whilst we welcome applications from experts across the range of Biomechanics disciplines, a particular teaching emphasis will be on Biomechanics of Human Movement in Sport, Exercise, or Clinical contexts. Application is by application form.

    Salary: £36,862 - £45,336

    Closing Deadline: 13 December 2011
