Lecturer, Senior Lecturer and Professorial positions in Medical Engineering
Making a significant contribution to research and teaching in the department, you will help us to build on our impressive international profile. You will identify and conduct your own and collaborative research projects, and also teach students at undergraduate and postgraduate level. In return, we will support your research ambitions and continued career development. As a result of a £15 million investment in the University, we are seeking to further strengthen our research profile while broadening our teaching portfolio. We will make a total of five appointments at Professorial, Senior Lecturer and Lecturer level to support our two research themes: Medical Engineering and Energy, Environment and Sustainable Engineering. Research areas could include, but are not limited to:
• Biofluids, in particular linked to cardiovascular and respiratory medicine
• Telemedicine and human centred electronics
• Renewable energy systems and in particular marine based renewable energy
• Biofuels and other alternative fuels
• Carbon capture, storage and utilisation
• Design and manufacture of microfluidic systems
Teaching within the Department of Engineering focuses on Mechanical, Electronic, Medical and Chemical Engineering and you would be expected to contribute to one or more of these areas. The department has a reputation for excellent teaching and we pride ourselves on the friendly and supportive atmosphere that we provide for both academic staff and students. We have over 25 years of continuous accreditation by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) with all of our MEng and BEng programmes accredited by the appropriate professional institution.
