    ASSISTANT / ASSOCIATE / FULL PROFESSOR ATHLETIC TRAINING EDUCATION PROGRAM


    POSITION: The School of Recreation, Health, and Tourism’s Division of Health and Human Performance at George Mason University invites applications for a 9-month tenure-track faculty appointment (Open-Rank) in the Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP) beginning August 2012.

    RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate athletic training courses as assigned by the program director, conducting regular visits to affiliated clinical sites as assigned by the clinical coordinator, and contributing to the continual development and delivery of the undergraduate ATEP program. Additional responsibilities include maintaining an active line of research and publication record, securing extramural grant funding, and serving on school, college, and university committees.

    QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must have completed a doctorate in athletic training or a closely related field, hold current BOC certification, and be eligible for Virginia athletic training licensure. Candidates must demonstrate potential for scholarly activity, contribute to collaborative interdisciplinary research in the Sports Medicine Assessment Research and Testing (SMART) laboratory, and show a strong commitment to teaching undergraduate courses in athletic training.
