An enthusiastic, innovative and self-motivated person is required for a Knowledge Transfer Partnership between the University of Central Lancashire and Harrison Spinks Ltd., Leeds.
The role: In partnership with the University of Central Lancashire, working with Jim Richards, Professor of Biomechanics and Research Lead for Allied Health Professions. This 2-year Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) is a rare opportunity. This KTP project is exciting & innovative: to introduce advanced biomechanics technologies to evaluate new designs of sports footwear & protective equipment used in sports, leading to sustainable production of new products. This role is a 24 month, fixed-term contract. Although the KTP Associate will be formally employed by the University, they will be based at the company premises in Leeds (LS11 5SN) and subject to its employment practices and conditions of work. As such the successful candidate will be expected to either relocate to Leeds or reside within 1 hour’s commuting distance to enable a potential start time of 7:00 a.m.
A generous training budget is available to enhance the career profile of the successful candidate. S/he will be encouraged to register for a higher degree.
The person: Recent BSc honours degree level of 2.1 or above in a sports/biomechanics, health related subject. The successful applicant must have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts to staff at all levels requiring a high standard of both verbal and written English. S/he must be a highly motivated individual and able to demonstrate a capacity for analytical & innovative thinking.
