The College of Engineering at The University of Akron invites applicants and nominations for the position of Chair for the Department of Biomedical Engineering. We seek a visionary and strategic leader in the field of Biomedical Engineering. The applicant must hold a doctorate in an appropriate field and should demonstrate academic credentials that are sufficient for appointment at a full professor level. He/she should have a strong background in scholarship, a successful track record of federal, state, and/or industry funding, a commitment to mentoring junior faculty, and a dedication to excellence in teaching.
