    California State University, Sacramento (Sacramento State) invites applications from individuals interested in joining our dynamic and growing faculty. With a current student population in excess of 28,000, Sacramento State, is one of the larger campuses in the 23 campus California State University system, the largest system of higher education in the nation. The University is organized around seven colleges. The Department of Physical Therapy is located in the College of Health and Human Services. There are approximately 1700 faculty who provide programs of instruction leading towards bachelor’s degrees in 60 disciplines, master’s degrees in 40 disciplines, two joint doctoral programs and one independent doctoral program.

    Position: The Department of Physical Therapy invites applications for a core full-time faculty position. This position is offered at the tenure track Assistant or Associate Professor level or the Lecturer level. Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications and professional experience. Appointment effective August 2012.

    Qualifications: Education/Licensure: Earned doctorate in physical therapy or related field from an accredited institution is required. ABD candidates will be considered for Lecturer appointment with the position converting to a tenure line upon successful completion of the degree; completion of doctoral degree must occur within two years of accepting Lecturer appointment. Applicants must be eligible for physical therapy licensure in California. Experience working with diverse populations preferred.

    Special Knowledge and Abilities: Candidates with specialized training in pediatric neurorehabilitation and motor control are preferred.

    Experience: Experience teaching in graduate education and record of scholarly achievement preferred. Three years of clinical experience preferred.

    Assignments: Assignments include teaching in areas of expertise consistent with program needs as well as mentoring student scholarship, advising, curriculum development, scholarly activity, University and community service. There is possible summer teaching for extra pay.

    General: Opportunity to contribute to a new doctoral curriculum designed to promote critical problem solving and evidence-based clinical proficiency in a program transitioning from a Master’s degree to a Doctoral degree.
