The Department of Biomedical Engineering at The University of Akron invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position that begins in Fall 2012. Applicants for the position must have an earned doctorate in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related field. Preference will be given to applicants with research interests in biomedical instrumentation, signals or imaging. Individuals in emerging technologies in these disciplines are especially encouraged to apply. Successful candidates would be expected to develop and maintain an externally-funded research program. In addition, the candidates must have a commitment to teaching excellence and be qualified to develop and teach courses at both graduate and undergraduate levels and advise M.S. and Ph.D. students.
