  • Assistant Professor in Physical Therapy at University of Evansville

    The University of Evansville invites applicants for two 10-month tenure track positions in the Department of Physical Therapy. Responsibilities include teaching, advising, scholarship, and service to the University, community, and profession. Ample opportunities exist to participate in clinical practice in the community and to conduct research in the department’s state of the art Dunigan Movement Analysis Laboratory.

    Qualifications include:

    • A terminal academic doctoral degree (Ph.D., D.Sc., Ed.D. or ABD) and a PT degree
    OR
    Doctor of Physical Therapy degree (DPT), a minimum of five years of clinical experience and clinical specialization

    • Eligibility for Indiana physical therapy licensure.

    • Preference will be given to applicants with expertise and experience in neuromuscular or musculoskeletal physical therapy, motor control, and/or orthopaedics.

    The Department of Physical Therapy DPT program is a selective program which maintains a personal and hands-on experience for exceptional students. At the same time, the department recognizes its obligation in the advancement of physical therapy practice through the production of original research. The department’s commitment to research can be seen in the allocation of resources to the Dunigan Movement Analysis Laboratory. The lab is 1200 square feet of newly renovated research space. The lab offers an 8-camera VICON movement analysis system, a split-belt Bertec instrumented treadmill with incline availability, 2 in-ground Bertec force plates, a 16-channel DelSys Bagnoli EMG system, a KinCom isokinetic dynamometer, a Biodex balance system, and additional hardware and software to meet many research needs. Research collaborations currently exist with numerous external organizations and UE departments including Exercise and Sport Science, Mechanical Engineering, Psychology and Neuroscience.
