As the Nike+ Fuel Lead, you will use a variety of scientific techniques to create innovative physiological models for integration into consumer electronics. You will interface with senior scientists, engineers, physiologists, and data analysts to deliver accurate and authentic sport measurement techniques and systems. You will lead external consulting firms to create prototypes, proof-of-concepts, commercialization processes and reliability test plans for body-worn sensing systems. You will function as a knowledge base across the company, clearly communicating and explaining athlete monitoring tool capabilities in both technical and non-technical manners. Additionally, you will provide recommendations for product decisions as it relates to sensing athlete exertion and performance. You will be responsible for remaining connected with state-of-the-art sensing and human monitoring innovations across the industry and sharing insights across the company.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree preferably Physiology, Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 8 years relevant work experience within an R&D environment
  • An additional two years of job-related experience may be substituted for educational requirements
  • Must possess demonstrated experience of sensor systems/algorithm design
  • Extensive knowledge of major areas of human monitoring in sport or other physically demanding environments
  • Must be well versed in validation and experimentation design to prove system reliability
  • Depth of knowledge in statistical prediction techniques
  • Excellent creativity, problem solving and influencing skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with senior leadership
  • Must be able to efficiently manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with human patient monitoring is a plus
  • Ability to participate in weekly early morning / late-afternoon conference calls
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
