  • Postdoctoral fellowship in Orthopaedic Bioengineering at Washington University

    The Biomechanical Engineering Lab of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Washington University has an immediate opening for a motivated postdoctoral fellow to work on examining the role of translational protein modifications in aging and disease of the intervertebral disc. The ideal candidate would have substantial experience in either analytical protein assays, cell and molecular signaling, or mechanical testing/modeling of orthopaedic tissues.

    Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in a relevant field of physical sciences or engineering. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary orthopaedic research laboratory, part of the Center for Musculoskeletal Research (http://musculoskeletalcore.wustl.edu/). Preference will be given to applicants with a documented record in the above areas. The fellowship is for a period up to 2-3 years, renewably annually with satisfactory performance. *

    The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery was established in 1995 as a formal department of Washington University School of Medicine. Since 1995, the department has concentrated on the development of its research program including the establishment of a focused research agenda and the recruitment of leading faculty.
