Post-doctoral position
Boston University Human Adaptation Lab
A post-doctoral position is available to study movement patterns in young adults with hip pain. The focus of this research is to better understand the interplay between structure, movement patterns and pain in young adults with hip pain in order to design improved rehabilitation and prevention programs.
Applicants should have an earned PhD or ScD in Movement Science, Biomechanics, Kinesiology, Engineering or a related field. Successful candidates will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a strong interest in clinical biomechanics of the lower extremity, desire to work as a team member, and be well organized. Prior experience using motion capture software (Vicon), Visual 3D and MATLAB is highly desirable. Clinical training, such as physical therapy or athletic training, is a plus. The successful applicant will also have opportunities to further develop his or her talents through the publication of manuscripts, development of grant proposals, and mentoring graduate students.
The position is open until filled. The initial appointment is for one year with a possibility of a second year. Review of applications will begin immediately.
