We have an immediate opening for a Hardware Customer Support Engineer in our Oxford UK office.
You will be required to travel to customer sites around the UK, Europe, and other parts of the world including Asia to undertake on-site installations and user training of (Vicon Motion Systems hardware and basic software). You will also work alongside experienced senior Application Support Engineers.
PRIMARY REPONSIBILITIES
• To set up and test systems on customer sites, often requiring integration with the site network or other peripheral devices
• To train users in basic operational procedures
• Provide support to existing customers via fax, email, phone
Customers served by this position are primarily hospitals, universities and sports institutes, but will also extend to the film, broadcast and games industries.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Scientific or technical education: preferably to degree level or equivalent
• Background in basic engineering or science discipline
• Practical experience of operating complex systems (Windows operating systems)
• Good verbal and written communication skills, ie be fluent in written and spoken English
• Be self-motivated to work alone as well as being a team player
• Proven background working with customers and technology.
• Background in Bio-mechanics, Bio-Engineering, or Motion Capture
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Job holder should be a citizen of the EU or have permanent residency status in the UK.
• Have the ability to undertake extensive international travel
