    As a Senior Sport Biomechanics Researcher in our world-class sport research laboratory, you will work with a multidisciplinary team of researchers and innovators within the Innovation Team at Nike. You will be tasked to create and lead a robust research agenda aimed at gathering, proving, and applying scientific performance insights to drive new product concepts and performance hypotheses across different innovation teams. You will direct the team to conduct cutting-edge independent laboratory research focusing on athletes, athletic movement, performance, and injury. You will apply scientific insights to next generation, innovative athletic footwear, equipment, and apparel.
    As a successful candidate, you will demonstrate an expert ability to: Lead as a creative scientist; questions methods, results, and application; Think outside normal research paradigms to find creative ways around barriers to performance or injury prevention. Seek better ways to perform sport science research, and apply the findings to product innovation; Meet complex challenges with imaginative state of the art approaches supported by feasible solutions; Generates new knowledge and insights about performance-based products that result in growth opportunities and competitive advantages in the marketplace.

    Requirements for the position:
    · Ph.D. in human movement science (biomechanics, kinesiology), engineering, biomedical engineering, ergonomics, or related field with 1 year relevant work experience. In lieu of a Ph.D. degree, a MSc degree plus 7 years work experience in a similar field is acceptable.
    · The candidate will have a proven track record creating a robust research agenda, and leading a team towards a common goal.
    · Experience in a biomechanics laboratory, with commonly used biomechanical tools (three-dimensional motion analysis; force plates, pressure sensors, accelerometers, EMG, etc) and analytical methods (kinematic/kinetic analysis, 3D rigid body motion, signal processing, programming, modeling, etc).
    · Experience in sport biomechanics and quantifying athletic performance.
    · Experience in applying scientific insight to tangible product solutions is a plus. Experience working with elite and/or professional athletes is a plus.
    · Applicants with any suitable combination of education, training or experience will be considered.
    · Team leadership and management experience a plus.
    · Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse team and thrive in a team environment.
