Infoscitex Corporation is pleased to announce an immediate position opening for a research scientist in the 3D Human Signatures Laboratory (3DHSL) at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. The 3DHSL is a multi-disciplinary laboratory specializing in the characterization of human morphology and movement patterns for military applications, such as stand-off target distinction and recognition. The laboratory is equipped with a state of the art, 18-camera optical motion capture system (Motion Analysis Corp.), an 18-sensor inertial motion capture system (APDM), a 3D full body shape scanner (3DMD), several synchronized fieldable sensors including 2-D video, radar, infrared, and hyperspectral, and high end computing facilities and software. The research scientist will work in a larger team of military, civilian, and contracted engineers and computers scientists. Duties include assisting with all aspects of ongoing research projects, from conception to data collection, analysis, and manuscript preparation.
Qualifications:
• M.S. in mechanical or biomedical engineering, kinesiology, anthropology, or other related field. B.S considered with several years of experience.
• Programming skills (LabView, Matlab, or similar).
• Excellent writing skills.
• Experience with human movement and/or morphology.
• Experience with 3-D scanning or motion capture (optical or inertial) techniques.
• Experience with human subjects protocols and testing is a plus.
• Experience with instrumented gait analysis is a plus.
• Statistical knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with shape or pattern recognition techniques is a plus.
