  • Postdoctoral Research Fellow,Univ. Illinois at Chicago - Musculoskeletal Biomechanics

The Musculoskeletal Biomechanics Laboratory at the University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join an NIH-funded project focused on the biomechanics of bone adaptation in young women. The project goal is to quantify changes in bone morphology and strength in humans due to well controlled mechanical loading, and to determine the mechanical consequences of these changes using noninvasive techniques. The long-term goal is to develop and assess physical activity-based interventions to improve bone strength in older women. The project involves CT and potentially microCT image processing, finite element analysis, mechanical testing, and working with human subjects. The ideal candidate would have a strong interest in obtaining independent research funding, such as an NIH-funded postdoctoral fellowship.
