Job Summary
The Biosciences Group of the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute is seeking an outstanding Post Doctoral Research Fellow for a one-year, renewable appointment. The Biosciences Group conducts automotive biomechanics research, focusing on injury prevention and the development of design tools for vehicle accommodation and safety assessment. We are seeking a post-doctoral fellow to participate in injury biomechanics research, including conducting laboratory research with post-mortem human subjects (PMHS), analyzing biomechanical data, and preparing research publications.
The successful candidate will: 1) participate in research planning meetings, 2) develop and implement laboratory research protocols, 3) collaborate with faculty and staff in the analysis of data, and 4) author publications and presentations based on the research findings. The successful candidate will be experienced with injury biomechanics research, including PMHS testing, and be skilled in the analysis of biomechanics data.
Required Qualifications
Qualifications include a PhD in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, or a related discipline; laboratory experience in PMHS testing; strong analytical skills; and a history of accomplishments demonstrating strong written and oral communication skills.
