  • Postdoctoral position at Stanford: Concussion prevention in American football

Description: Job opportunity to work as part of a collaborative team involving Stanford Athletics, Sports Medicine, Radiology, and Bioengineering studying traumatic brain injury (TBI). Our ultimate goal is to diagnose and prevent traumatic brain injury and neurodegeneration in a wide range of applications including: American football, soccer, military, and transportation. We are seeking an enthusiastic postdoctoral researcher to join our team and help lead and develop innovative assessment tools*and protective equipment for traumatic brain injury. Currently, we are carrying out field studies on multiple Stanford varsity teams using instrumented mouthguards and skin patches with an industry collaborator (X2 Inc.). In parallel, we are carrying out laboratory experiments and simulations of impact biomechanics. Ideal candidates should be able to work effectively across departments and with industry collaborators to tightly integrate field and laboratory experiments.
