  • Research assistant position at Motor Control Lab at Heriot Watt in Edinburgh, UK

Starting early/mid 2013, the Motor Control Lab in the School of Life Sciences at Heriot Watt will be looking to hire a full time research assistant for one year. The duties associated with the post will consist of (1) recruiting, testing, and analysis of behavioural experiments aimed at examining the human sensorimotor system, (2) programming custom stimulus presentation and analysis software and (3) providing hardware support for setting up a new lab. Although the work will be based primarily in Heriot Watt's Psychology department, applicants from other backgrounds will also be considered (the post would be suited to a a recent engineering or computer science graduate) that show an interest in how the human brain controls the body and makes sense of the world around us. No experience with running experiments is necessary. The applicant will, however, be required to have a good grasp of either Matlab, C, Python, or Labview, along with some confidence working with simple hardware/software interfaces. Salary will be £23,811. Start date is negotiable.

see website (at my current post in Canada for the time being) for further details
