The Department of Kinesiology http://www.hhdev.psu.edu/kines at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a full-time faculty member in the area of neural control of movement for a tenure-track position, beginning Fall 2013 at the assistant professor rank. Candidates must have an earned doctorate in an appropriate area within or related to Kinesiology and demonstrate an established record of scholarship, and a commitment to excellence in teaching and service. The successful candidate will be expected to secure extramural research funding and assume teaching responsibilities at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Post-doctoral experience and an established research program are preferred. Preference will be given to a candidate whose research builds on existing strengths in the department.
The Department of Kinesiology offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees and is part of the College of Health and Human Development. The department houses a world-renowned research environment that is supportive for faculty research, and provides an attractive training atmosphere for student and post-doctoral trainees. Our graduate program is currently ranked #1 by both the National Research Council and the National Academy of Kinesiology. The educational environment is enriched by the considerable breadth and diversity of faculty expertise and educational opportunities for students.
