ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

Required Qualifications: Earned doctorate or equivalent degree in Biomechanics or a related field (A.B.D. candidates will be considered, but must have Ph.D. by August 2013. If degree is not completed by the date of appointment, rank will be at the instructor level.); candidates applying for Associate Professor rank must provide evidence of a strong record of an independent research line, teaching experience, and involvement in service to the profession. Candidates applying for the Assistant Professor rank must provide evidence of scholarly activity that demonstrates a strong potential to establish an independent line of research, college/university teaching experience, and the potential to obtain external funding for scholarly activities. Preferred qualifications: Associate Professor: Previous success in obtaining external funding is desirable. Assistant Professor: Post-doctoral experience with a research emphasis on adult aging or biomechanical measurements used for pathological populations is preferred. Responsibilities: Develops or continues, a research program in Biomechanics; teaches Biomechanics courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels; provides advisement to graduate students, and directs theses and dissertations; seeks external support for scholarly activities; participates in the development of the Biomechanics program and serve on Department, College, University, and Profession-based committees as appropriate.
