    PhD Student Assistantship Available:

    The Musculoskeletal Biomechanics Laboratory at the University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking a motivated doctoral student to join our research on the biomechanics of bone adaptation in young women. Our laboratory utilizes CT image processing, finite element analysis, mechanical testing, and human subjects research to understand the interactions between bone mechanical loading environment and bone adaptation. Interested students may apply either through the UIC Bioengineering or Kinesiology PhD Programs. In addition to applying through the Department of their choice, interested students are strongly encouraged to contact Dr. Troy directly before an admissions decision is made.

    - Students with a BS or MS in an engineering discipline OR a non-engineering discipline with very strong math and computer skills will be considered. Knowledge of biomechanics and/or anatomy is a bonus. The most important thing is that you are enthusiastic,hard working, and self-motivated.
    - very good written and oral English language communication skills
    - able to work in a team/group setting
    - interest in working with human subjects in a clinical research setting
