The Speech Production Laboratory in the Department of Head and Neck Surgery at UCLA School of Medicine is looking to fill a post-doctoral position to investigate biomechanical mechanisms of human voice production. The goal of this NIH-supported project is to better understand the interaction between vocal fold biomechanics, glottal aerodynamics, and the acoustics of the produced voice, with applications to clinical management of voice disorders. The qualified applicant must have a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field, with experience in experimental or computational soft tissue biomechanics. Experience in voice production research is preferred. The position is initially for one year but can be renewed for multiple years.
