  • Assistant/Associate Professor in Kinesiology, THE UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE, KNOXVILLE

    POSITION: Assistant/Associate Professor (Kinesiology). This is a nine-month tenure-track position in the Department of Kinesiology, Recreation, and Sport Studies beginning August 1, 2013. This faculty member will be hired to support the rapidly growing Kinesiology program.     The Department of Kinesiology, Recreation, and Sport Studies is housed in the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences. A doctoral program is offered in Kinesiology and Sport Studies with Kinesiology specializations of Physical Activity Epidemiology, Sport Psychology and Motor Behavior, Biomechanics, and Exercise Physiology. Additionally, M.S. and B.S. programs are offered in Kinesiology.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • Earned doctorate in a kinesiology discipline
    • Ability to contribute to one of the doctoral specializations listed above
    • Record of research in kinesiology
    • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
    • Scholarly publications in peer-reviewed journals
    • Commitment to the values and priorities described in the collegiate Strategic Plan: http://cehhs.utk.edu/
    • Evidence of extramural support for research

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • Post-doctoral research experience
    • University teaching experience
    • Demonstrated commitment to professional organizations

    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Establish independent, externally funded research program, and publish in refereed journals
    • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in kinesiology
    • Advise and mentor graduate and undergraduate students
    • Direct student research including graduate projects, theses, and dissertations
    • Provide professional, university, and community service

    SALARY: Competitive and commensurate with experience.
