  • Post-doctoral position in the Center for Orthopaedic Biomechanics

    The Center for Orthopaedic Biomechanics in the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at the University of Denver is seeking a highly motivated individual to perform post-doctoral research in human joint mechanics utilizing biplane dynamic x-ray and computational modeling. The two-year position offers a competitive salary, health insurance, and benefits. Review of applicants will continue until the positions are filled, with potential start dates as early as February 1, 2013.

    Desired qualifications for the position include:
    * PhD degree in mechanical or biomedical engineering
    * Demonstrated skills in the collection of in vivo and/or in vitro laboratory measurements
    * Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills
    * Prior research-based journal publications
    * Proficiency with programming languages
    * Experience collaborating with clinicians in clinical or laboratory settings
    * Knowledge of the use of fluoroscopy or x-ray to measure joint mechanics
    * Knowledge of finite element analysis and commercial FE codes
    * Knowledge of knee, spine, or hip biomechanics
    * Knowledge of musculoskeletal modeling and simulation
