A full time faculty position is available for a physical therapist with expertise in orthopedic physical therapy. Responsibilities include: teaching orthopedic physical therapy evaluation and intervention in the entry-level doctor of physical therapy, developing a scholarly research program, mentoring professional program and graduate students, contributing to curricular development and activity. Additional responsibilities include teaching in graduate programs in areas of expertise. Requirements include: Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program, eligible for licensure to practice physical therapy in Virginia, earned academic doctoral degree, an established research agenda with a record of peer-reviewed publications and presentations, clear potential for obtaining external funding to complement and expand existing expertise in the department and demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU. Previous success in grantsmanship, previous teaching experience in the physical therapy setting, and certification in Orthopedics, Sports, or Athletic Training is preferred. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
