A full time faculty position is available for a physical therapist with expertise in orthopedic physical therapy. Responsibilities include: teaching orthopedic physical therapy evaluation and intervention in the entry-level doctor of physical therapy, developing a scholarly research program, mentoring professional program and graduate students, contributing to curricular development and activity. Additional responsibilities include teaching in graduate programs in areas of expertise. Requirements include: Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program, eligible for licensure to practice physical therapy in Virginia, earned academic doctoral degree, an established research agenda with a record of peer-reviewed publications and presentations, clear potential for obtaining external funding to complement and expand existing expertise in the department and demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU. Previous success in grantsmanship, previous teaching experience in the physical therapy setting, and certification in Orthopedics, Sports, or Athletic Training is preferred.
