Job Description
Clinical Research Specialist (Job Opening 374458) - Manages, plans, designs and executes clinical based research studies which identify performance metrics for injury risk in physically active populations; develops guidelines and standard operating procedure manuals for human performance and injury data collection at high school, college, professional, and military locations; develops and executes biometric, physical performance, and injury occurrence information for processing and analysis; designs and executes processes for creation and maintenance of databases; conducts statistical analyses; synthesis and preparation of daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly reports; assists with writing presentations for conferences, publications and review meetings; prepares graphical representations of outcomes; conducts hands-on training sessions for future assisting personnel; leads completion of Institutional Review Board (IRB) documents; leads maintenance of all computer data files and the compiling of regulatory documents.
Travel is to be determined but will include traveling to Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Colorado, California, Virginia, and Texas. Travel will occur three to four times a year and will be for two to three days at a time.
Education and Experience
Bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience required; Masters degree preferred; considerable experience and background in Sports Medicine to include any of the specialized areas required: athletic training, exercise science, health science, public health or biological sciences; computer skills required; experience in clinical research capacity desired; knowledge of database software applications desired. Certifications in First Aid/CPR required, and certification as Athletic Trainer and/or Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist preferred. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint required; computer skills including utilization of injury tracking and performance based systems; knowledge of (e.g., SPSS, SAS). Requires successful completion of a background check.
