    As Australia’s strategic high performance sport agency, The Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) provides expertise in all areas of athlete preparation with a clear agenda for achieving international success in line with Australia’s Winning Edge performance targets. Movement Science plays a key role in achieving these targets, through collaboration with key partners in the sport sector, and development of targeted innovative programs to deliver high performance outcomes, through an integrated, multidisciplinary approach across the AIS.

    As head of Movement Science, you will provide high level strategic leadership, advice and direction to the Section to achieve team and business outcomes. This includes developing and delivering: Research and applied science to support the outcomes of National Sporting Organisation high performance plans through an integrated interdisciplinary model; Discipline strategies and approaches to optimise athlete technical and tactical proficiency and reduce injury risk in line with NSO high performance plans; Promotion and leadership of the movement science field nationally, including a commitment to National Sport Science Quality Assurance protocols.

    To be successful, you will have: A degree or higher qualification/s and demonstrated senior level experience in biomechanics, performance analysis, skill acquisition or related field. Demonstrated experience in providing innovative performance science services and research to develop elite athletes. Experience in successfully managing a diverse team, including demonstrated success in achieving team and project objectives and cohesion in line with a strategic direction.
