Responsibilities
As a Sports Research Engineer, you will be responsible for researching and validating product performance. You will lead applied and basic biomechanical, material science, and physiological projects. You will design and perform data collections and data analysis utilizing a variety of methods. You will create clear and concise summaries of your findings for both internal and external audiences. In this role, you will oversee product performance validation, including perception, mechanical, fit and wear testing. You will manage the documentation of results and provide product recommendations to the design, development and marketing teams. You will assist in the development and improvement of research and testing infrastructure such as processes, software programs, protocols and procedures. As a key member of the team, you will contribute during brainstorming and product ideation sessions. You will coach, mentor and supervise a product performance validation analyst. You will capitalize on opportunities to facilitate learning with the analyst. You will be required to perform lab tours and fulfill media responsibilities as necessary.
Qualifications
MS degree in biomechanics or kinesiology, biomedical or mechanical engineering with a minimum of 3-5 years of related experience.
Extensive experience with independent data collection, interpretation, statistics, and the creation of summary of results.
Supervisory experience a plus.
Computer skills including: Matlab, Labview, Visual 3D, R, and more.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and time management skills with ability to work independently and in a team environment on many projects simultaneously.
Publication history in academic journals and conferences is preferred.
Some local and national travel may be required (up to 5%).
