Faced with increased numbers of individuals requiring lower limb prostheses, the challenge is to achieve as natural a gait as possible whilst ensuring user comfort. This research post will involve patient movement analysis leading to the designing and building of prototypes of a new and novel form of smart lower limb prosthetic device. The research is funded by an award from EPSRC to the University of Leeds and will be carried out in close collaboration with our industrial partner.
