An opportunity currently exists to apply for a PhD scholarship in the Centre for Musculoskeletal Research (CMR) in collaboration with research staff at the Defence Science and Technology Organisation. The proposed research involves development and use of neuromusculoskeletal biomechanics to assess the wearing of different torso load sharing systems. We are seeking an applicant who is an Australian Citizen, with a strong background in computer programming/engineering, robotics and/or biomechanics. Experience with Matlab, Visual C++,OpenSim and Vicon Motion Analysis systems would be an advantage. The successful applicant will receive a tax free AUD$24,653 (2013 rate, indexed annually) per annum PhD scholarship for 3 years. Start dates for the scholarships are negotiable. We reserve the right to not appoint and appoint by invitation.
Please note the position will be primarily based in Melbourne at the Defence Science and Technology Organisation, however the successful applicant will also spend significant periods of time at the Centre for Musculoskeletal Research, Griffith Health Institute, Griffith University on the Gold Coast.
The preferred applicant will be required to successfully undergo the security clearance vetting process in order to obtain a RESTRICTED clearance level.
