Balance and Posture with Adults and Children with Cerebral Palsy

A Postdoctoral Research position is available to start September 1, 2013.
Summary of Position:
The research specialist reports to Richard Lauer, Ph.D., and is responsible for assisting with the design, implementation, and execution of research studies pertaining to the overall objectives of the laboratory. This will include the analysis of balance and posture in adults and children with cerebral palsy, computer adaptive testing, biomechanics, and electromyographic analysis techniques. The research specialist will assist with disseminating research findings which includes writing manuscripts for publication and preparing/presenting conference presentations. Responsibilities will include:
Essential Functions of Position:
• Prepare manuscripts for publication in peer reviewed journals
• Prepare conference presentations
• Assist with recruitment, coordination & implementation of grant funded projects
• Perform biomechanical analyses of data
• Perform statistical analyses of data
Other Duties and Responsibilities
• Performs other duties as assigned.

THIS IS A GRANT FUNDED POSITION (NICHD, #R01HD069769).
This position requires the following skills and abilities:
• Demonstrated experience working as part of a team.
• Proficiency in basic computer programs such as MS Office, Word and Excel
• Proficiency in motion analysis and biomechanics software including MATLAB and CORTEX
• Excellent Communication and Organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with a diverse group of constituents.
