DeSales University invites applications for a full-time, 12-month faculty position in our newly developing Doctor of Physical Therapy Program (DPT) to be filled by mutual agreement for fall 2013/spring 2014. The ideal candidate for this position will have some combination of teaching experiences to graduate students in the areas of gross anatomy with cadaver dissection, biomechanics, kinesiology, or exercise science. Individuals with previous teaching or research experience in a physical therapy program or healthcare education environment are highly encouraged to apply. We seek a candidate with a PhD or other research-based doctoral degree in the fields of anatomy, biomechanics or exercise science to partner with physical therapy educator-clinicians to influence the development and delivery of the first-year orthopaedic physical therapy curriculum. The opportunity to direct our new state-of-the-art cadaver lab for DPT, physician assistant and nursing students is also a possible component of this position. Individuals with a proven record of research will have the opportunity to participate in the design of our dedicated research lab including selection of equipment to expand professional lines of scholarly inquiry. We are seeking a skilled educator to join us in our mission to build an engaged and collegial faculty of 8 members who value innovative, team-based approaches to learner-centered education of future physical therapists. As a full-time faculty member, the successful candidate will also be expected to pursue a scholarly line of inquiry including mentoring DPT student research projects, and participate in professional and university service activities.
