The biomechanics lab boasts state-of-the-art technology that allows for motion capture in any environment. Our 3D optical motion capture system records athletes' movements at up to 500 frames per second. This allows Motus to accurately track and observe your sports motion from any angle and at any instant during the movement to pinpoint our biomechanical measurements. The flexibility of our motion capture system to stay both indoors and travel outdoors provides an essential advantage for our biomechanics research team to track athletes in any environment.
About the position:
We are currently seeking interns to assist in data collection at our main biomechanics lab in Bradenton, FL for the fall semester. Ideal candidates for this position must be able to work a minimum of 10 hours per week. Duties will include, but are not limited to: setting up mobile labs for data collection, marker placement, and administration of test protocols. Internship opportunities also available for engineers with MATLab programming experience. With more advanced skills, additional opportunities may be available. Although this position is unpaid, interns will receive exposure to cutting-edge technology in the industry and have the opportunity to work on new innovative technology Motus is developing. No previous motion capture experience is required. Knowledge of anatomy and kinesiology is highly preferred. Undergraduates welcome to apply.
