Contract: Fixed term for 3 months: 1st September - 30th November 2013
Salary: £20,172 - £24,048
The Research Institute for Sport and Exercise Sciences seeks to appoint two research assistants specialising in biomechanics on full time 3 month contracts. The successful candidates will work in collaboration with the research team and also independently to analyse kinematic and kinetic data of stair negotiation on data already collected on a New Dynamics of Ageing (NDA)- funded project entitled "Biomechanical and sensory constraints of step and stair negotiation in old age" (ES/G037310/1). The data analysis will reveal the effects that different step designs have on locomotory ability indexes and also the effect of an exercise intervention targeting functional deficits in old age. The successful candidates will also be expected to contribute as co–authors to a number of publications, reports and other means of dissemination of the findings to the scientific community and end users.
