Post-Doc/Senior Research Fellow in BIO-SIGNAL PROCESSING

As part of my ERC Starting Grant LEAD (“Lower Extremity Amputee Dynamics”), we are seeking a highly motivated and independent researcher focusing on bio-signal processing at the Post-Doc or Senior Researcher Fellow level. The position is initially for 2 years, but can be extended for at least another 2 years.

The research topics for this position will focus on developing new techniques to record and process EMG signals and/or ultrasound data on lower extremity amputees during gait. Therefore, a PhD in Bioinformatics, Biomedical Engineering or any other closely related field and experience with EMG or Ultrasound would be desirable.
The experimental studies and the signal processing techniques will be done in close collaborations with other ERC-team members focusing on novel Finite Element simulation techniques, the department of “Biomechatronic Systems” at the Fraunhofer IPA, and researchers from the Cluster of Excellence for Simulation Technology (SimTech) at the University of Stuttgart. The candidate will be embedded within the SimTech research group on “Continuum Biomechanics and Mechanobiology” (http://www.mechbau.uni-stuttgart.de/ls2/jrg/home/), which is part of the Institute of Applied Mechanics (CE) at the University of Stuttgart.
The applicant will have the freedom to seek further funding to build up his/her own independent research group.
Applications with the usual documents (letter of motivation, CV, publication list, and list of potential referees) should be sent directly to Prof. Oliver Röhrle (roehrle@simtech.uni-stuttgart.de).
Applications are considered until the position is filled.
