  • Two clinical positions at Georgia State University

    The Department of Kinesiology and Health at Georgia State University is seeking two full-time clinical instructor/assistant professor.

    (1) Clinical Instructor/Clinical Assistant Professor in Exercise Science (Log #15-012)
    Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate Fitness Assessment and Exercise Prescription course and laboratory activities; teaching other courses in the Exercise Science Program as needed; supervising internships; developing and maintaining internship facility relationships and agreements; assisting student preparation for certification exams; academic advising; and serving on department, college and university committees.

    Qualifications: Qualifications include an earned Ph.D. (for Clinical Assistant Professor) or a master’s degree (for Clinical Instructor) in exercise science, kinesiology or a closely related field; must have a minimum of three years of work experience in an exercise science, health, or fitness program (e.g., worksite health promotion/corporate fitness, community or commercial fitness center/program, etc.); ACSM (Health Fitness Specialist or equivalent) or NSCA certification (CSCS) required; experience in and commitment to working with diverse students in an urban setting; and commitment to developing future exercise science professionals. Evidence of successful college-level teaching preferred.

    (2) Clinical Assistant Professor in Exercise Physiology (Log # 15-013)
    Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate clinical exercise physiology courses, laboratory activities, and other courses in the Exercise Science Program; academic advising; supervising clinical exercise physiology internships; developing and maintaining clinical exercise physiology internship facility relationships and agreements; assisting student preparation for clinical exercise physiology certification exams; and serving on department, college and university committees.

    Qualifications: Qualifications include an earned Ph.D. in exercise science, kinesiology or a closely related field. Must have three years of work-related experience in a clinical exercise physiology program (e.g. cardiac rehabilitation or similar), ACSM certification (Clinical Exercise Specialist, Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist) or equivalent preferred; experience in and commitment to working with diverse students in an urban setting, and commitment to developing future exercise science professionals. Evidence of successful college-level teaching preferred.
