    The internationally renowned Department of Kinesiology and Community Health (http://kch.illinois.edu) within the College of Applied Health Sciences (http://ahs.illinois.edu) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (http://illinois.edu) is dedicated to the scholarly investigation of all aspects of health, rehabilitation, and human movement. Our 45 interdisciplinary faculty are housed within state of the art research facilities, including the recently completed $10 million Khan Annex and forthcoming Center for Wounded Veterans. Our department offers BS, MS, and PhD degrees in Kinesiology and Community Health, an MS degree in Rehabilitation, and a CEPH accredited MPH degree. KCH faculty maintain active collaborations with engineering, psychology and nutritional sciences as well as the Center for Health Aging and Disability, Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology, local hospitals and community organizations.

    Position: The Department of Kinesiology and Community Health is searching for outstanding candidates with a background in falls and/or falls prevention research. We seek individuals with diverse backgrounds and training in falls research with expertise in such areas as the epidemiology of falls, the design and implementation of randomized clinical trials or prospective studies, and/or the basic sciences related to balance and/or falls. Successful applicants will contribute to the department’s instructional mission, conduct research, and advance scholarship in their area of expertise. The position is a nine-month, tenure track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor.

    Available: The preferred start date is August 16, 2014.

    Qualifications: Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in a relevant field such as epidemiology, kinesiology, physiology, psychology, public health, or rehabilitation science. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain an active research agenda and contribute to the instructional mission of the department.

    Salary: Salary is competitive based on a 9-month academic year appointment.
