Postdoctoral Fellowship in Biomechanics

We have an immediate opening for postdoctoral fellows to work in the Human Performance Laboratory at Stanford University. We are searching for an outstanding individual to study musculoskeletal dynamics and lead research projects in injury prevention and human performance optimization. The candidate must have strong research and communication skills, experience in movement biomechanics, excellent technical capabilities, strong writing skills and the ability to work as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team. Prior experience with musculoskeletal research and experimental techniques for analyzing human movement is valuable, but we will place higher priority on the impact, originality, and promise of the candidate's work than on the particular sub-area of specialization.
The candidate will work with Professors Scott Delp and Gordon Matheson (co-directors of the Human Performance Lab) and other collaborators at the Human Performance Lab http://ortho.stanford.edu/humanperformance/, the Neuromuscular Biomechanics Lab http://nmbl.stanford.edu, and the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery http://ortho.stanford.edu at Stanford University.
This is an outstanding collaborative environment involving bioengineers, sports medicine physicians, orthopaedic surgeons, neuroscientists, coaches, trainers, and athletes. We have state-of-the-art facilities for measurement of human biomechanics in the lab and on the field and deep expertise in motion capture, computer simulation, haptic feedback, metabolic assessments, robotics, genetics, etc. This position will provide an excellent opportunity for an outstanding young scholar to develop new technical skills, gain experience in leadership and management, and have a major impact in sports science, rehabilitation, and human performance.
