    Position: Research Scientist I (CSX Human Performance Lab Team Leader)
    The School of Applied Physiology at the Georgia Institute of Technology in collaboration with CSX Transportation, Inc. is seeking a very motivated, dynamic individual to lead a team of investigators in the newly developed Human Performance Laboratory at the CSX national training center based in Atlanta, GA.

    Qualifications: Master’s degree with identifiable strengths in the area of human biomechanics (e.g., kinesiology, biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering). Highly qualified applicants with only a bachelor’s degree will be considered. The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills and teaching experience. Experience with industry, corporate culture and/or industrial biomechanics (or related field) are also desirable.

    Responsibilities: This individual will be primarily responsible for leading development and management of activities related to the industrial biomechanics training of rail workers and secondarily responsible for supporting the team’s research on the ‘industrial athlete’ to improve best practices. This team leader will need to work closely with the Georgia Tech principal investigator (Y.H. Chang, along with CSX corporate personnel in managing laboratory activities and equipment, staff training, developing and updating training material, scheduling and delivering training sessions, measuring and reporting training outcomes, and providing research support to fellow team members. This position may require up to ~10% travel as necessary.

    Salary: Competitive and commensurate with qualifications.

    Appointment: Full-time 12-month appointment with annual review and renewal for up to 3 years.
