  • Senior Biomechanical Engineer

    Infoscitex (IST) is seeking a mid to senior biomechanical engineer to provide support and services to our government customer in Dayton, OH.

    Essential Job Functions:

    Perform research and development in the area of human modeling and identification.

    Develop methods, algorithms, software tools, and systems to model human shape, motion, and activity, to analyze human signatures, and to visualize, interpret, and display human sensor feeds.

    Document work, preparing technical reports, publishing technical papers, and writing proposals.

    Required Skills:

    Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

    Master's degree in mechanical or biomechanical engineering, computer science, information technology, electric engineering, physics, mathematics, or other related majors plus four (4) years of experience.

    Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.

    Working knowledge and practical skills of biomechanics, computer graphics, shape analysis, and motion analysis.

    Working knowledge and experience of computational modeling and simulation (e.g., modeling and simulation of human shape, motion, and activity).

    Strong ability of software development, with at least 3 years of working experience and practical skills, being proficient in Matlab, C++, Visual Studio, or Java.

    Ability to work with other scientist and engineers to develop modules or subsystems within a large system frame.

    Must be a team player and self-motivated with minimum supervision and direction.

    Excellent written and communications skills.

    Desired Skills:

    PhD is desired.

    Knowledge and experience with animation tools and techniques (e. g., Motion Builder, Blender, 3dsMax, and Maya).

    Knowledge and experience with Matlab toolboxes (e.g., optimization, wavelet, image processing, and parallel computing).

    Knowledge and experience with motion analysis tools (e.g., OpenSim and Visual3D).

    Technical publications and other technical achievements.
