The Department of Human Physiology at the University of Oregon is seeking an innovative instructor to join a growing nationally recognized program that provides a flexible curriculum and an engaging learning environment for ~1200 undergraduate majors who aspire to be professionals in health-science fields such as medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy, nursing, dentistry, pharmacy, education, and research. This is a Non-Tenure Track Career Instructor faculty position.
The position requires a MS, PhD preferred, or equivalent degree (MD, EdD, DO, DPT) related to human physiology with evidence of excellence in teaching and learning strategies at the university level. Special consideration will be given to candidates with strong backgrounds in endocrine, reproductive, gastrointestinal, metabolic, or exercise physiology, knowledge of histology, or experience working with human cadavers. Specific teaching needs include Medical Terminology, Physiology of Exercise, Human Anatomy and Physiology, and upper-division elective courses (http://physiology.uoregon.edu/courses). Additionally, the successful candidate will be expected to engage in departmental and university service and work effectively with faculty, staff and students with diverse backgrounds.
Located 110 miles south of Portland, the University of Oregon has an enrollment of 24,000. The Eugene metro area population (250,000) is in a region noted for its high quality of life and progressive cultural environment. We are about an hour’s drive from the Pacific Coast and the Cascade Mountains. The University is an AAU research institution and a member of the Pac-12 Conference.
