The Department of Kinesiology at Mississippi State University has two open positions: 1) nine-month, tenure-track faculty position - Assistant Professor and 2) nine-month faculty position - Instructor (Coordinator of Laboratory and Activity Teaching). Both are to be filled by August 2014. The tenure-track position requires a doctorate (ABD's will be considered at the instructor level until the degree is in hand) in kinesiology or a related science discipline with a specialty in biomechanics. Duties include teaching courses in the undergraduate and graduate programs. Preference will be given to those who can teach a graduate course in neuromuscular physiology. Other duties include providing service to the department, university and profession, mentoring students, and following a scholarly agenda that entails publishing in peer-reviewed venues. Candidate research interest is open.

The instructor position requires a masterís degree in kinesiology, exercise science, or exercise physiology. Duties include teaching laboratory courses in the undergraduate exercise science programs and coordinating laboratory sections of lecture courses and activity classes. Preference will be given to individuals with college teaching experience in similar laboratory and activity courses. Other duties include providing service to the department, university and profession, and mentoring students.
