  • Post-doctoral position in shoulder biomechanics at SCORE, La Jolla, CA, USA

A post-doctoral research position in shoulder biomechanics is available at the Shiley Center for Orthopaedic Research & Education at Scripps Clinic, La Jolla, CA, USA. This is a three year position, renewable annually based on performance.

The post-doctoral fellow will join a multidisciplinary team of highly motivated surgeons, engineers, and biologists to work on the shoulder biomechanics program. The current objective is to analyze the function of the normal shoulder, the arthritic shoulder, and the reconstructed shoulder. The post-doc will be directly responsible for one or more projects involving computer modeling, laboratory testing, and clinical research. The post-doc may supervise one or more engineers who will assist in the primary project. The post-doc may also be required to collaborate with clinical fellows (four per year) in clinically relevant research projects.
Minimum requirements are a PhD in biomechanics or a related field and a record of peer-reviewed publications. Expertise in shoulder kinematics, computer modeling, finite element analysis, testing equipment, hardware and software development is desirable. Salary and benefits are commensurate with NIH rates for post-doctoral researchers.
