    Description:
    Full-time faculty position in the Department of Exercise and Sport Science. The qualified individual will teach primarily in the Applied Exercise Science major.

    Specialization:
    Applied Exercise Science, Health Promotion, Human Performance, Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, Motor Control

    Responsibilities:
    Teach in the undergraduate Applied Exercise Science major. Provide service for the program, department, and university. Participate in research that engages the students and colleagues in the department and school. Possible program development and grant writing opportunities.

    Level:
    Faculty level and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

    Qualifications:
    A doctorate in kinesiology/exercise physiology/biomechanics/health promotion or related field is required. ABD will be considered. Candidates should have a strong commitment to quality teaching in a liberal arts undergraduate program and have a desire conduct to research in collaboration with students and colleagues in their area of expertise. Professional certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine, the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and the American College of Sports Medicine are strongly desired.



    Experience:
    Specific professional expertise and upper division teaching experience must be in the exercise science fields (fitness & exercise prescription, corrective exercise, strength & conditioning, physiology of exercise, etc.). Previous experience teaching at the college/university level with administrative and accreditation experience is preferred.

    Workload:
    Faculty will teach 27 units for a 10-month contract or 29 units for an 11-month contract. Clinical practice and supervision units may also be assigned.

    • Ability to engage in critical thinking and exercise independent judgment.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage confidential information.
    • Self starter, ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form.
