  • PhD studentship (London, UK) bone fatigue repair as bioinspiration for architecture

    Dear List,

Royal Veterinary Collect graduates go on to work in some of the world's leading scientific research institutes as well as within industry and government. RVC PhD students learn from experts who produce cutting-edge research and are published in top academic journals

The Royal Veterinary College (RVC) holds an annual competition which funds exceptional students to undertake PhD studies on a topic provided by potential supervisors.

Please see the above link for our proposal on bone fatigue remodelling and its use as bioinspiration for architectural design with self-healing materials. As a collaboration between RVC's Skeletal Biology Group and Structure & Motion Lab, and Foster + Partners' Specialist Modelling Group, this project would suit a candidate with a biological and computational background. But, we're very happy to receive applications from candidates with a particular strength in one area and a drive and capacity to learn the others.

A limitation is that funding is set at the level of UK/EU fees and that non-EU applicants would be required to provide an additional £17k p.a.

Apologies for the cross-post, for those of you also on the ImageJ and/or BoneJ lists.

    Best regards,

    Michael
