The Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine is searching for an outstanding researcher at the level of Assistant Professor in the area of biomechanics to join its Center for Lower Extremity Ambulatory Research (CLEAR). Individuals are expected to have an interest in biomechanical research related to the research and clinical practice within CLEAR and the Department of Podiatric Surgery and Applied Biomechanics.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Support CLEAR’s research agenda in Biomechanics, producing refereed publications and presentations and securing extramural funding
2) Teach graduate classes within the area of Biomechanics
3) Supervise theses, dissertations, and honors projects
4) Provide service to CLEAR, the department, college, university, community, and profession
Required Qualifications:
1) Earned PhD or equivalent terminal degree from an accredited institution in Biomechanics with a background in podiatric medicine and/or orthopedic research.
2) Post-doctoral training in above area is preferred
3) Evidence of refereed publications and presentations
4) History of extramural funding preferred
5) Previous experience working with varied equipment for the objective quantification of human movement is required.
6) Experience in teaching at the graduate level and in the composition of grants is preferred.
This is a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor rank with significant protected time for research. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience and background. The University offers competitive full benefits.
