Research description: Our research focuses on the neural mechanisms of motor learning and adaptation during walking. We study walking patterns of healthy subject and people with neurological disorders. The laboratory is equipped with an instrumented (force-measuring) split-belt treadmill, motion capture, electromyography and visual feedback systems.
Department: The Department of Kinesiology offers an interdisciplinary approach to the study of movement through investigation of its mechanical, neurological, physiological, biochemical, molecular, and behavioral components. The Department currently serves approximately 750 undergraduate majors and 40 graduate students.
Appointment: September 2014 or earlier
Qualifications: Highly motivated candidates with a BS/MS degree in relevant engineering or science disciplines will be considered. Preference will be given to applicants with experience with C++ and Matlab. Successful applicants must have excellent English communication skills.
Financial support: Qualified applicant will be funded by research/teaching assistantships. Travel support will be provided to attend professional meetings.
