Post-Doc Position, Biomechanical modeling Aix-Marseille University, Institute of Movement Sciences, Marseille,France

This Post-doc position is proposed within the InterMove project (Interdisciplinary Modeling of Sport Performance Determinants) which is financed by the University of Aix-Marseille, through the A*Midex foundation and hosted by the Institute of Movement Sciences(UMR 7287).
This project aims at developing an integrated understanding of high-level sport performance based on an interdisciplinary study of its determinants (psychological, neurological, biomechanical and physiological). In order to shed light on the processes involved in movement production and learning, this project will rely greatly on modeling and simulation techniques.

The candidate will join the Institute of Movement Sciences and will lead the biomechanical modeling and simulation aspects of the InterMove project. This part will include the development and validation of a neuro-musculoskeletal model of the free shoot of a basketball player.

    Starting Date: July 2014
    Duration:
    24 months
    Salary:
    approx 2000euro/month (depending on experience)

    Required profile
    • Ph.D degree in Mathematics, Biomechanics, Human Movement Science, Robotics, or related field
    • Expertise in biomechanical modeling and simulation (Hill-type models, direct dynamics)
    • Skills in experimental movement analysis
    • Proficient in English (written and oral)

Interested candidates should send a CV and letter of motivation to :
    • Gilles MONTAGNE (Aix-Marseille Université / CNRS, Institut des Sciences du Mouvement) e-mail: gilles.montagne@univ-amu.fr
